Cambridge, Cambridgeshire · remote by default, on-site when it matters
Power BI consultant in Cambridge
Cambridge businesses are a different problem from the rest of East Anglia. They are usually younger, growing faster, and drowning in data from tools they signed up for last year: a CRM, a finance system, a project tracker, a warehouse of product events. What they rarely have, between twenty-five and two hundred staff, is anyone whose job is to make those systems agree. So the board pack is assembled by hand and questioned every month.
The good news is that these businesses are already Microsoft shops with Power BI licences they have never used properly, which makes the First Report a very short step: one system, one question, one reconciled number, and then the next one.
Technology and life sciences
Revenue, pipeline and burn from HubSpot or Salesforce plus Xero or Business Central, reconciled so the number in the investor update is the number in the accounts.
Professional services
Utilisation, project margin and WIP for consultancies and agencies that have outgrown the timesheet tool's own charts.
Scale-ups with a data team on the way
A properly modelled semantic layer that a first data hire inherits rather than rebuilds. Documentation that survives me leaving is part of every build.
The First Report · £1,950
One system you already run, one report, the headline number reconciled to the penny before it ships. Ten working days. The smallest useful yes.
Power BI Health Check · £950
Already have Power BI nobody trusts? Six areas, 48 scored checks and a roadmap within five working days. The full fee comes off any work booked within 90 days.
Reporting Sprint · £9,500
Up to three systems into one modelled layer and eight report pages, live in three weeks, reconciled to source.
Every price is published, and none of them change by postcode.
Remote by default, which suits most Cambridge teams anyway. On-site is about two hours from Great Yarmouth on the A47 and A11, easily done for a kick-off or a training day, and not charged for.
If it doesn't reconcile, it doesn't ship
Every build ties back to the source system before anyone sees it. On financial reporting that means £0 trial-balance variance, and there is a 23 year archive in the portfolio that shows what that looks like.
Built to be read by everyone
Reports that work on a phone, in greyscale and in a printout, because I am colour blind and build to a higher accessibility standard than most dashboards get.
No licences, no software
I sell no Sage licences, Microsoft seats or software, so the advice is never shaped by a resale commission.

Frequently asked questions
We already have a data engineer. Is this for us?
Sometimes. If you have a data team, the useful pieces are usually the Health Check (an outside score on what they built) or training. If you have a data engineer and no reporting anyone reads, that is a First Report.
What does a Power BI consultant cost in Cambridge?
Published, and the same as everywhere: a £950 Health Check, a £1,950 First Report, a £9,500 Reporting Sprint, care plans from £250 a month and training from £750 a day. Cambridge prices are not a thing here.
Can you work with our SaaS stack rather than an ERP?
Yes. HubSpot, Salesforce, Xero, QuickBooks and Business Central are all on the First Report list, and a folder of exports from anything else counts as a source too.
Stop arguing about the numbers. Start using them.
Book a fixed-price Power BI Health Check and find out how trusted, usable and audit-ready your reporting really is, and exactly what to do next.
